Welcomes, comebacks, poofs, and emoji reactions.

Quips

Mention Marshal or reply to one of its messages and you get a short comeback. There are no preset categories: it reads what you actually said and answers that, so the reply is about your message rather than a bucket it fell into.

  • Media-only and bot-chat channels suppress quips. The posted rules and permission lockouts already do the talking there.
  • One genuine quip per user per minute. Keep pinging and Marshal gets annoyed, then more annoyed, then silent, then a stern warning and a 5-minute lockout.

Emoji reacts

Eligible posts may also get a wordless auto-reaction. Reacts are independent of quips and can land together. Bot-chat channels get none.

  • Mentioning "marshal" by name → Marshal's signature emoji
  • Bean variants → :beans:
  • 6→7 meme → :67:
  • A blush react on allowed media or flash posts when that channel toggle is enabled

A table-flip emoticon gets a random unflip reply in any channel where Marshal may chat (not media-only or bot-chat). Someone has to put the table back.

Writing the comeback happens off the server, so the short text you aimed at Marshal (an @mention or a reply to it) is sent out to produce the reply. That text is also kept briefly, capped and purged within 48 hours, so a back-and-forth reads as one conversation. General chat is never stored or sent. Message IDs and content-shape flags still appear in the message index. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.

Welcomes

With the Welcome toggle on, Marshal posts a one-time welcome the first time a qualifying new member speaks in that channel and points them at /kink pick. You get one bot welcome. Marshal spends it gladly.

  • Only members who join after the feature is enabled qualify. No retroactive welcomes.
  • One welcome per member per server for as long as the saved welcome record is retained. Leaving and rejoining does not reset it.
  • Pending flags survive restarts, and joins during downtime are reconciled on startup.

Poof messages

When a flash upload expires, Marshal removes it with a brief line and the signature poof emoji. Scene's over.

Removal notices

Removed media posts get a short notice explaining what happened. Details are in Media channels.

Photo critiques

Remove Bad Media sends a randomized critique by DM; Remove Misplaced Media sends a wrong-place notice instead. See Purge & remove.
