Ask to DM

Your hub

/a2dm is your private DM dashboard. One line per person: open pass, revoked pass, pending ask, recent refusal, or a used daily ask.

• Ask someone to DM… picks a member and opens the request form.
• Look up or manage a member… opens a Member lookup card: answer, cancel your ask, revoke a pass, or open the shared thread.
• /a2dm user:<member> jumps straight to that card.
• Right-click a member → Apps → Open DM Hub (same as the lookup card) or Ask to DM (skips the hub).

Rules

Short list. Marshal enforces all of it.

• One open ask per pair at a time, in either direction. Settle the pending one before starting another.
• One ask per person per direction per 24 hours. Canceling still spends it.
• One accept opens a consent pass both ways. Neither of you can ask the other again until someone revokes it from the hub. Discord's own DM privacy settings still apply.
• Members with the Closed status role cannot be asked at all (see below).

Request threads

Each pair shares one private thread in the configured channel, reused for every new ask. A fresh thread only appears for a pair's first ask, or if the old one was deleted.

• Accept / Reject: recipient only (also from their hub). The outcome posts in the thread and mentions the asker, never as a DM. The thread locks immediately and archives about 24 hours later.
• Cancel: asker only (also from your hub card if the thread is gone). A shared or reused thread locks and archives right away. A first-ask thread that only the asker occupied is deleted instead.
• No answer for 3 days: the ask expires on its own. A notice posts in the thread, the room closes immediately, and no rejection is counted. The asker may ask again right away.
• Revoke reopens the existing thread, notifies both members, updates the card to Accepted, later revoked, then locks again for 24 hours. If no thread remains, the other member sees the revoked pass on their hub.

Status roles

Three optional roles say how you feel about DMs:

Role	Meaning
Ask	Ask before DMing this member.
Open	DMs are open.
Closed	DMs are closed. Cannot be asked at all.

Only Closed is enforced. Ask and Open are signals, not rules. No role still means you can be asked.
